Delete your ProgressLoop account
How to delete your account and everything in it, with the app or without it, and what is left afterwards.
The app and who publishes it
ProgressLoop is a training app for iPhone and Apple Watch, and for Android phones and Wear OS watches (on Google Play as eu.progressloop.ProgressLoop). It is published by Simeon Rosenov Simeonov, an individual developer; there is no company behind it. You have one ProgressLoop account, whichever of them you use, and deleting it deletes it everywhere.
Delete it in the app
- iPhone: open Settings in the app, choose Delete account and confirm.
- Android: open Settings in the app (the gear), scroll to the very bottom and tap Delete account, below Sign out, then Delete everything.
The account is deleted at once, and there is no waiting period in which it can be brought back. If you want a copy of your record first, take it from Settings, Export data before you delete. Removing the app from your phone does not delete the account.
Ask for it without the app
Email privacy@progressloop.eu from the address on your account and say that you want the account deleted. If you signed in with Google, that is your Google address. We reply to that address before anything is deleted, so that nobody else can delete your account by writing in, and tell you when it is done. It is done within a month at the latest, and usually within a few days.
If you signed in with Apple and chose to hide your address, write from any address and say so: we write to the address Apple forwards for you, and delete the account once you answer from it. If you signed in with Apple and shared no address at all, we have no way to tell from an email that the account is yours, so delete it in the iPhone app.
What is deleted
- Your account: your email address, your name, your password, how you sign in, your profile picture, and when you accepted the terms.
- Your training: exercises, workouts, programmes, every session with its sets and notes, skills, habits, goals, reminders and your schedule.
- Your body data: weights, daily entries, check-ins, measurements and progress photos, with the steps and workouts that came from Apple Health or Health Connect and the heart rate kept from a watch session.
- Your meals, their pictures and your food notes, anything the meal assistant kept, and your AI training reviews.
- Coaching: your applications and coaching relationships, from both sides; your session bookings; every review you wrote, and, if you are a trainer, your trainer profile, your hours, your nutrition guides, every review of you, and the plans, guides and recipes you sent that a client has not added.
- Your notification choices and registered phones, the record of the install the account was made on and the ad campaign it came from, and a Google Calendar connection - with the ProgressLoop calendar in your Google account. If you signed in with Apple, the authorisation Apple gave us is handed back to it.
- On an Android phone where you delete the account: the Health Connect readings the app kept, the progress photos taken on it, your reminders, what its widgets show, and the watch's sign-in.
What is kept, and for how long
- Database backups can hold deleted data for up to 7 days, until they are overwritten. They are used for nothing else, and restoring one would delete your account again. Photos are not backed up, so they go at once.
- If we deleted the account for you, our administration log keeps one line saying that the account, by its name or address, was deleted and when. It is the record that your request was carried out and holds nothing else. Your email exchange with us is kept only while it could matter to a dispute or a legal obligation.
- Server logs - the IP address a request came from, when, and what was asked for - are kept for a short rolling window, whether or not the account exists.
- What belongs to somebody else stays with them. Workouts, programmes and sessions you put into a client's account as their trainer are theirs, and so is a plan they added from you or a recipe they took into their meals. Anything a trainer copied out of the app is out of our reach.
Some copies are not ours to delete, and stay until you remove them:
- Calendar events that calendar sync wrote into your phone's calendar - turn the sync off and choose to remove them before you delete the account - and any plan you added to a calendar one at a time.
- Workouts your watch recorded in Apple Health or Health Connect, which stay there until you delete them there.
- What Meta received about the steps you reached in the app, kept as its own privacy policy says, and what OpenAI received for an AI review or the meal assistant, which it deletes within 30 days.
- On an iPhone, what the app keeps on the phone itself, which goes when you remove the app. On either phone, the note of which ad steps were already sent, and the random identifier the app reports its install under, stay until the app is removed.
Deleting some of your data, and keeping the account
You do not have to delete the account to delete what is in it. Anything you recorded - a session, a note, a weight, a check-in, a photo - can be deleted on its own in the app. You can withdraw the app's access to Apple Health or Health Connect, turn AI reviews off, and ask us at privacy@progressloop.eu to erase your AI readings or anything else, without closing the account.
More about your data
The Privacy Policy sets out what deleting takes and what it leaves in full, and everything else about your data. Any question goes to privacy@progressloop.eu.
